Our purpose in life is to bring God glory through our relationship with Him being guided by the Holy Spirit. We in the body of Christ are called to live a life that is free from any bondage and we are called to set others free as we live this life. We are called to make war against the enemy and to free as many slaves in this world as possible. If we remember that we war not with flesh and blood but with principalities and powers, we can have the mind set to understand that each day we are in battles for the movement of the Kingdom. We get so frustrated with our days when things are going this way or that and it is quite understandable, but if we remember that my mind should be focused on heavenly places and the war that is taking place, maybe I should ask am I just having a bad day or is the enemy shooting fiery darts all around me to keep me focused on the fires and not on my goal of setting captives free by my life of peace, patients and understanding. When we are not on the front line actually ministering to someone personally our lives should minister through our speech and interactions with EVERYONE!!! The grocery store clerk who was short with you still needs to see Christ, the person who just took your seat on the metro still needs to see Christ, your wife or husband who just yelled at you still needs to see Christ. Let no mistake about it, the warfare is everywhere and all the time. All you have to do is live and listen to the Holy Spirit, be free, and allow him to guide you and use your vessel when every He wants. You are an agent of Christ, light is not affected by darkness, darkness can only win in the absence of light. Stop taking things personally and understand that the battle is not yours, it is the Lord!!!!
Ephesians 6
Children and Parents
1Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2"Honor your father and mother"—which is the first commandment with a promise— 3"that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."[a] 4Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
Slaves and Masters
5Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. 6Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. 7Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, 8because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.
9And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.
The Armor of God
10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
19Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
