Lifestyle Volume 1, Issue 4

Wives there is no one more precious than you, to your husband!!! There is a great standard placed upon you as well in the covenant of marriage. God knew to set a standard of respect upon you for a very specific reason. You are the vessel that God uses to get the attention of your husband and to give him direction in certain seasons. The "woman's intuition" is actually a sensitivity to the Will and Presence of God. Men have the ability to have an intimate relationship with the Father as well, so they can gain great discernment and to listen to the Will of God. Women, have the ability to be more sensitive in general than a man, becuase of how God engineered them. So in different seasons the husband may have a decision to make and the wife has a great responsibility to be the conduit between God's Will and the Husband. This is why God asks you to respect your husbands, one because when God wants to speak through you, He does not want to be rejected by the husband because you have disrespected him in the relationship to the point that he does not listen when you speak, due to bitterness. The other reason not to disrespect him is because wives, since Eve, have used this place of position which is the "helpmate" to "usurp" the authority from God. Like Jezebel, to know that your husband has a trusting ear for your guidance is not for your own use. God wants your husband to have a heart to listen and take heed to the guidance you give him, but not for your glory and will, but for God's alone. To use that for your own will is nothing but conforming to the will of Satan. Remember there is no your "own" will, either you are a slave to righteousness unto God, or a slave to unrighteousness unto Satan. "Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?", (Romans 6:16) A wife who respects her husband and is submitted to God's Will for her marriage is of a greater value than all the diamonds in the world!!! As the husband portrays Christ in the marriage and His care for his wife as being the church, the wife's role as the church is to be lead by her husband being submissive and respectful to her leader who would die for her!!! Let us make one thing clear, your relationship to your spouse is a one to one correlation to your relationship to God. A husband who shows a lack of love for his wife, shows a lack of love towards his God. Likewise a wife who shows a lack of respect to her husband, shows a lack of respect to her God. Remember neither side can argue, "I will hold up my standard once he/she does". Just like your decission for Christ was of free will, so was your choice of who you married!!! It usually takes the sacrifice of one holding up the standard in order for the other one to come in alignment with their own standard. Today, yield to the standard that God has called you to through submission to the Holy Spirit, your value is to precious not to!!! Be Encouraged!!! Have a wonderful life of obtaining a lifestyle pleasing to God on purpose!!!!!

Ephesians 5

22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. 32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

Job 1

Prologue

1 In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil. 2 He had seven sons and three daughters, 3 and he owned seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred donkeys, and had a large number of servants. He was the greatest man among all the people of the East.

4 His sons used to hold feasts in their homes on their birthdays, and they would invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. 5 When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would make arrangements for them to be purified. Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, thinking, “Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular custom.

6 One day the angels[a] came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan[b] also came with them. 7 The LORD said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”

Satan answered the LORD, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”

8 Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.”
